Many things are changing in the car world. But not everything… Classics are still classics and always shall be. And some of the classic skills we use to restore, preserve and protect them haven’t changed either, though we’re not afraid to harness new technology and techniques if they offer a path to a better finish and a longer life for the car you care about.

Our workshop is rooted in passion for the job. Neil and his brother, Andrew, first restored a car together before they were old enough to buy a pint to celebrate finishing it. Neil went on to run his own workshop, eventually joined by his son, Anthony whilst Andrew went on to hone his craft, restoring classics to concours standard. After Richard saw the quality of Neil and Anthony’s work restoring a few of his own cars, he asked them to join him in a new business in a new workshop. Andrew was the only person Neil would trust to bring the skills and attitude needed to complete the senior team and thus The Smallest Cog was born.

We are excited to bring our owners and visit this amazing place set up by Richard Hammond.
