Two days with a fabulous overnight offering you a well-earned break from reality, hanging out with like-minded car nuts driving the testing roads Top Gear used to get those great images for TV! Day 1 Starting at 10am on Saturday, meeting at our good friends at McLaren Leeds for coffee we should be top-down and factor 50 for you Spider guys & girls! Off we go, cruising some of the UK’s finest routes through the Yorkshire Dales, Lancashire and the popping into beautiful Cumbrian countryside. From here we turn east and descend some of the most challenging roads across England to our base for the evening in the beautiful Vale of York

Our base for the evening is hidden away in a quiet, beautiful village. It is a simply divine & romantic 18th Century Coaching Inn with rooms. From personal testing we can confirm that our hosts serve delicious food in their cosy restaurant. In their bar we can relax in style away from the madding crowd swapping alcohol exaggerated stories about our antics earlier

Day 2 A leisurely departure see us enjoy a short squirt up to Helmsley and enjoy the stunning roads across the NY Moors aiming for the East coast in search of Whitby A trip to Whitby isn’t complete without a visit to The Magpie which is known throughout North Yorkshire and beyond as one of the finest fish restaurants in the UK.

For those still brimming from last night’s dinner and this morning’s breakfast, there is always the option of tackling those 199 lung-busting steps up to Whitby Abbey Some records state there are 198 steps, others 200. Local preacher John Wesley counted 191 steps in 1761 and other guides from the 1800s record only 194 steps. You'll just have to climb them for yourself and keep your own count. Either way, it’s the healthier option than Cod & Chips with Mushy Peas and a double side pot of Gravy.

Having been rolled back into your car but helpful passing tourists, we turn South along the “fresh” North Eastern coastline, the soft top guys no doubt enjoying the cooling effects of those light Norwegian winds!

A further coffee & cake stop sees us a few miles from the A1M from where it’s time for the drive home having made a few new friends and put on a few kilo’s
